| Nelion Winery Situated close to the sleepy village of Pretori where only forty souls still reside, Nelion is set high above the main road, with stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The first bottles of Nelion wine were produced in 1996, and such was the success of this vintage, the family then decided to go into full production, and so they started work on building their own custom designed winery. Opened in 1998 this fine example of home crafting, boasts great attention to detail, the atmosphere is also extremely welcoming, and these elements have resulted in the creation of a small, but perfectly formed winery. They say that behind every successful man, there is a woman. Well, Neofytos Ioannou freely admits that his wife Nitsa, is his strong, other half, especially when it comes to the actual running of the wine tasting, and the accompanying generous hospitality, offered to visitors at the Nelion winery. This is a place where small groups of visitors can find out more about the actual process of wine making, they can also view some artefacts, collected from a by gone age, all of which, have been handed down through generations of local wine makers. Open from 10 am until 7pm in the summer months the place is nearly always busy with Visitors, most of whom, have made the rather pleasant drive up from Paphos, and Limassol to stock up on a few bottles or cases of the Nelion wines. |

| Skiing During the winter months you can bask in 70°F heat on the coast in the morning and go skiing in the snowfields of the Troodos Mountains in the afternoon! Snow falls in the Troodos Mountains from mid-December through to the end of March courtesy of the infrequent winter storms that pass over the island. At an altitude of above 4500ft the snow accumulates, especially on north facing slopes. Mount Olympus (altitude 6402ft) has a cap of snow on it for three or four months of the year, and is where the Troodos Skiing Resort is based. |
